Let your light shine and don’t be deterred
I know it’s infuriating when they try to infer
That what you display in your style, could be theirs
And your hairstyle, clothes, shoes
They continuously compare
It’s not your fault that their style cannot feel like their own
Similarities must be spoken or openly shown
Even if when your looks aren’t remotely the same
Tilt your head maybe squint till your eyes start to strain
What they tend not to say is
You hold special light
It lights up the room and it glows super bright
A beacon so effortless stirs up internal fight
So they match what you have
Must be better, yeah right
Don’t let if effect you, don’t make yourself small
You were gifted that light so it’s yours after all
Take that light as a shield to protect you from battery
Then wrap up each word and receive it as flattery
You hold something special, unique and divine
So go on, you got this, just let your light shine.
