Cheerleader

It’s bloomin’ annoying

Knowing you, being me

There is love and a blood line which others can’t see

But an ugliness seeps out occasionally

Especially when light moves from you onto me

Specifics can not be described verbally

Whatever it is holds a real complexity

Nostalgia disguises the truth underneath

Of the things never uttered, of which we don’t speak

Not trying to out shine you, if that’s what you think

Just finding my way to let happiness sink

Into those dark places where sadness resides

Encouraging me to pull back and then hide

Not sure what the answer to this puzzle is

But I feel like our friendship s in a crisis

See I’ve now felt what having a Cheerleader’ is

Their encouragement given, it truly the biz

The warmth and support soothes a wound or a scar

Girls this is a shout out, our know who you are

Though sad, I think finally we have to call time

As this friendship train comes to the end of it’s line

I’ll continue supporting you, but now from afar

My heart hear protected, sending love to where you are.
